A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has dismissed emerging opposition figures, saying they lack the political strength to unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a post on his Facebook page on Wednesday, Igbokwe questioned the electoral value of individuals positioning themselves against Tinubu ahead of future elections.
Sharing a photo of African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftains in Enugu after Peter Obi’s defection to the party, Igbokwe wrote: “So these are the people that will unseat PBAT? These ones I am seeing here — some of them cannot win their polling booths.”
Igbokwe said some of the opposition figures lack the resources, structure and grassroots influence required to compete electorally.
“Some of them are koboless to drive anything. They do not have electoral values, they do not know how to build bridges, and they do not know how to invest in people. We play too much in this country,” he wrote.
He warned that Tinubu should not be underestimated ahead of the 2027 general elections, saying he knows the president personally.
“They do not know PBAT. Ignore PBAT to your peril; I know him very well. Till 2031!!!” he concluded.
