According to reports, Amunde admitted during the interrogation, “I and Walcot killed her. We killed her with a stick.” He explained that after the attack, they dragged his mother’s body outside and disposed of it in a well. “After we got to the well, I opened it and we jointly carried her body and threw it into the well,” he stated, highlighting the chilling nature of the crime.
The interrogation footage, shared on Instagram by user @isaacfayoseoriginal, raised alarm and drew attention to the gruesome details of the case. Amunde also noted that his accomplice, identified as Walcot, fled the scene after the incident, leaving him to face the consequences alone.
Irene Ugbo, the Police Public Relations Officer for Cross River State, confirmed the arrest and assured that the case would undergo thorough investigation. “Yes, he has been arrested. He will be transferred to the police headquarters for further investigation tomorrow (Tuesday),” Ugbo stated in an exclusive interview.
