Austin Tam-George: Nyesom Wike Made It Clear That He Wants To Retain Control Of The State’s Structure

 

Former Rivers State information commissioner Austin Tam George has charged Nyesom Wike with attempting to embezzle public funds for personal gain. Governor Fubara and Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, have been at odds, and the relationship between the two has resulted in a protracted political crisis in Rivers State.

According to Tam George, Wike wants to continue serving as the state’s resource manager and political leader while leaving office.

He underlined that Governor Fubara opposed Wike’s efforts, arguing that the state’s resources need to be allocated for the welfare and advancement of the populace rather than for private gain.

“Nyesom Wike wants to divert state resources for his personal use,” he stated. His desire to maintain authority over the state’s organization has been made very evident. This essentially means that he wants to be the state’s resource manager and political godfather, have access to the state’s resources, and choose who will run the government. According to Governor Fubara, this cannot be permitted to occur.
