Tears Flow as Nollywood Actress Allwell Ademola is Laid to Rest in Lagos

Nollywood actress Allwell Ademola was laid to rest on Friday, January 9, at Atan Cemetery, Yaba, Lagos, just two weeks after her passing on December 27, 2025, at the age of 49.

A candlelight procession and service of songs took place on Thursday, January 8, beginning at LTV 8, moving to Oregun Junction, and returning to LTV. The ceremony featured prayers, tributes, and heartfelt moments as colleagues and friends reflected on the life of the late actress and filmmaker.

Several Nollywood stars attended the service, including Afeez Abiodun, Rotimi Salami, Kunle Afod, Odunlade Adekola, Saheed Balogun, Bolaji Amusan, Abiola Adebayo, Iyabo Ojo, Fausat Balogun, Eniola Ajao, and Fathia Balogun. Videos circulating on social media showed industry colleagues like Afeez Owo, Toyin Abraham, and Liz Da-Silva visibly emotional as they poured sand into Ademola’s lowered coffin.

During a brief sermon, the officiating pastor encouraged attendees to reflect on their lives, reminding them of the fleeting nature of time. He said, “She has lived her life. She has run the race and has gone to meet her maker, but what we are doing here is for you and me… What God expects of us when we see things like this is to look up to God and say, ‘Father, help me to make the best of the time that is left.’”

The ceremony was a poignant farewell to a beloved actress, leaving friends, family, and fans mourning her loss while celebrating her life and contributions to Nollywood.
