The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State, Terfa Iorgiilim, has openly declared his support for Governor Hyacinth Alia’s bid for a second term in office.
Iorgiilim made the declaration during a community reception held for the Mbavarakaa people of Mbatiav in Gboko, where he described the governor’s re-election ambition as a collective project already embraced by the people.
According to him, Governor Alia’s second-term aspiration enjoys strong backing within the community, stressing that it is widely seen as a settled matter due to the governor’s performance so far.
At the event, Iorgiilim distributed relief items to residents, explaining that the gesture was facilitated through the support of Governor Alia. He noted that the governor, whom he referred to as a son of Mbavarakaa by maternal lineage, approved the items as a show of goodwill to the community.
The APC chairman urged residents to fully support the governor’s re-election efforts and cautioned against actions or alliances that could weaken the project ahead of the 2027 elections. He advised the community to remain united and avoid individuals perceived to be working against the governor’s interests.
Iorgiilim maintained that returning Governor Alia for a second term remains the most fitting way for the people to appreciate what he described as the governor’s impactful leadership and the development projects attracted to the area over the past three years.
