2027: Mutfwang Promises Tinubu of 1 Million Votes from Plateau After Joining APC

Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has assured that the state will deliver one million votes to President Bola Tinubu, saying Plateau is now more united than ever.

Mutfwang gave the assurance on Friday in Jos while receiving his membership card of the All Progressives Congress (APC), following his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Addressing concerns from skeptics over his move to the APC, the governor urged them to be patient, saying time would reveal the benefits of the decision.

“One of the things I have always pursued is the unity of Plateau State. If you truly love Plateau, then you are my brother. Today, I am beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel,” he said.

Mutfwang noted that the foundations for unity in the state were finally coming together, adding that Plateau was witnessing the birth of a new political alignment focused on the collective interest of the state.

“What I am seeing today is the birth of a new party, the Plateau Peoples Party, riding on the platform of the APC, and together we will pursue the cause of Plateau,” he stated.

The governor reiterated his call for patience among critics, describing the journey ahead as one of faith.

“To the skeptics, I say be patient. Time will reveal everything. Take courage. The journey we are embarking on is a journey of faith, and I believe Plateau will reap the dividends of this union,” he said.

Mutfwang stressed that Plateau State was bigger than individual interests and said his defection marked the beginning of a new era of unity with reduced political acrimony.

He added that his former colleagues in the PDP remained his friends and brothers, expressing confidence that they remained committed to the vision they had jointly pursued.

Speaking on his relationship with President Tinubu, Mutfwang said he had assured the President of his loyalty during their first meeting in June 2023 and pledged his full support for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

“I am committed to Mr President’s leadership and his re-election. I believe in his determination to fix Nigeria’s challenges, and I am ready to walk that journey with him,” he said.

The governor expressed optimism that Plateau would witness one of its most peaceful elections in 2027, adding that the state was well positioned to deliver one million votes for President Tinubu.
