Davido Breaks Silence as Gov Adeleke Dumps PDP, Drops One-Word Reaction

Davido has reacted to the shocking resignation of his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), adding a new twist to the unfolding political drama in Osun State.

The Afrobeats star made his position known on Tuesday after reposting the announcement on his X handle, where he wrote a short remark, “Jeje…”.

His post immediately drew attention from supporters and political observers who interpreted it as a calm message in the middle of a growing political storm.

The singer’s reaction came less than 24 hours after Governor Adeleke’s resignation letter started circulating online.

The letter, dated November 4, 2025, was addressed to the PDP chairman of Ward 2 in Ede North. In it, the governor complained about unresolved issues within the national leadership of the PDP.

According to him, the persistent crisis made it difficult to continue under the party’s current structure.

Adeleke’s decision has thrown the party into confusion ahead of the 2026 governorship primary. Within the Osun chapter, some members argued that the primary should be postponed until the crisis is resolved.

However, the PDP National Working Committee insisted that the exercise would still take place as originally planned. The situation is even more complicated because Adeleke was the only aspirant who paid for and submitted the nomination form before his exit.

Adeleke’s next move remains uncertain, and there are growing questions about the platform he might choose for his re-election bid.

Stakeholders within the party described the resignation as a major setback and warned that it could weaken the PDP’s chances in the next election cycle.

Reactions from the public have continued to surface, with some describing the governor’s decision as long overdue, while others view it as a signal of deeper internal problems within the PDP.

Davido’s one-word comment has also added to the discussions, with many reading different meanings into it.

For now, the Adeleke family and the governor’s political camp have not issued further statements beyond the resignation letter.
