JUST IN: DSS arrests Buhari’s ally in Lagos over forfeited property dispute

Men believed to be operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) on Thursday arrested Ikechi Emenike, a political ally of former president Muhammadu Buhari, at his office in the Surulere area of Lagos.

At least six men, some armed, arrived at the premises of DER Publications around 2:30 pm and introduced themselves as personnel from the DSS office in Shangisha.

Witnesses said the operatives did not present a warrant before taking Emenike away into waiting vehicles and they drove off.

The DSS has not issued any public statement regarding the arrest.

Emenike’s wife, Uzoma serves as the Nigerian Ambassador to the United States of America under the Buhari administration.

The Abia-born politician enjoyed close ties with late Buhari while the former president was in power.
